Andowl charger suitable for installations up to 10A at 12V. This is PWM type. PWM Charge Controllers simply connect the PV panel to the battery (12/24/48V) making them simple switches. When the switch closes, the panel voltage is equalized to that of the battery. The result is that the voltage of the array that the PWM controller can accept depends on the battery voltage and is small, usually one with two panels of 100/200Wp in series and with correspondingly small charging current compared to the capabilities of an MPPT controller charging. Based on the above, PWM charge controllers are ideal for smaller systems where system efficiency is not as important a factor and for solar panels with a maximum power voltage (Vmp) of up to 18V for charging a 12V battery.
